Teeth Whitening

What Is Teeth Whitening?
Teeth whitening is the process of tackling tooth discolouration by lightening the natural colour of your teeth through the use of our ‘at home’ Boutique teeth whitening system that is available at Ingleby House Dental Practice.

The Process
Your dentist will examine your teeth and gums to make sure your teeth are ready for the teeth whitening process, restore any cavities and take moulds for your bespoke whitening trays. Once these arrive from the whitening laboratory they can then be collected from the dental practice along with the hydrogen peroxide whitening gels. After two to three weeks of using the whitening gels you can unveil your beautiful new smile. We also recommend using Biomin toothpaste during the whitening process to alleviate any teeth sensitivity during the whitening process.

Teeth Whitening Facts
Teeth whitening that is overseen by dental professionals can help avoid damage to your teeth or gums and guarantee results.
The effects of teeth whitening are not permanent but if your teeth do start to lose their whiter look, you can simply book an appointment with your dentist and they can provide additional whitening gel.
New technologies have been developed to allow even patients with sensitive teeth to undergo teeth whitening treatment (carbamide peroxide gel).
Teeth whitening will only be effective on natural teeth. Although it can remove surface stains, it will not alter the colour of restorations such as crowns, veneers or dentures.
